Development

International development describes the efforts of agencies such as International Needs in their goal to free people from poverty, disease, lack of opportunity and choice. International Needs is working throughout Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe, giving local nationals the opportunity of a better, more healthy and fulfilled life.

Child immunisations
   		Child immunisations - £10 Immunise a child against the 6 major causes of death and disability - diphtheria, measles, polio, tetanus, tuberculosis and whooping cough. In the developing world 30,000 children under the age of 5 die every day from these diseases. Save a child's life with this gift!

Agricultural gifts

Goat
   		Goat - £30 Goats provide fertiliser and milk, excess milk can be sold providing income for a family. Your £30 goes towards the purchase of a pedigree goat and the supplies and equipment needed for keeping it healthy.
Birthing kit 
   		Birthing kit - £35 You can help equip a trained birthing attendant so that mother and baby stand a better chance of doing well.
HIV/AIDS Support 
   		HIV/AIDS Support - £35 Help our trained counsellors and their team of young adults bring life saving education, along with access to testing and treatment to remote rural communities steeped in superstition. By breaking the cycle of ignorance they are giving this generation a chance to make informed choices for their futures.
Sewing machine
   		Sewing machine - £35 On completion of their training at the Lydia Centre, Nepal, women return to their villages to share all they have learnt. A sewing machine will enable them to provide an income for their family.
Business starter kit
   		Business starter kit - £50 Equip a released slave girl, a young person trained with a new vocational skill or a person needing help to restart their business after a natural disaster. This business starter kit includes all essential materials and equipment.
Bicycle
   		Bicycle - £90 Often 2 wheels can be the only practical way for our nurses, teachers and pastors to travel to communities that are off the beaten track. All will benefit from being given a bike.
Rickshaw
   		Rickshaw - £90 Rickshaws provide permanent and meaningful employment for a man. Lift a whole family out of poverty.
Cow
   		Cow - £100 International Needs cow project, Uganda, teaches local families how to look after and benefit from owning pedigree livestock. Purchase a cow, equipment and supplies which will be given to these newly trained families, providing milk and the potential for new business.
Medical supplies
   		Medical supplies - £100 Give essential medical equipment for our Health Centres to enable them to treat the sick and injured and provide mobile clinics for remote, rural villages.
Water storage tank
   		Water storage tank - £950 Rain water harvesting is an effective way of storing and providing precious clean water.
Water well
   		Water well - £5,800 Clean drinking water is the right of every person. This gift will bring life sustaining water to a whole community.
Vehicle
   		Vehicle - £10,000 Many International Needs projects are located in inaccessible rural areas. With an appropriate vehicle we will always be able to reach our projects with resources, famine relief, education and healthcare.
